Steve
Kime
Steve Kime is a record-setting track
athlete, a former broadcaster and has served in leadership
roles for twenty years in the corporate world.
Steve has served as Public Relations, Marketing and
fund-raising consultant for over twenty years to various
companies. In
addition, he spent a decade working in radio in stations
across the
U.S.
He graduated from
Perry
High School
in
Perry
,
Oklahoma
and was the recipient of the Citizenship Award as a senior.
In addition, Kime received the “Distinguished
Alumni Award” from PHS in 2004.
Steve obtained his Radio-Telephone Broadcast license
from Elkins Institute of Broadcasting.
He earned his Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree from
the
University
of
Oklahoma
. Steve earned
his Masters of Management degree from
Oral
Roberts
University
.
He is the author of two books entitled How Will They Remember Me? and Highway to Your Dreams! In
2006, Steve served as Project Manager for an Oklahoma
Centennial coffee-table book entitled JOURNEY.
Recently, Steve presented Governor Brad Henry with a
copy of this 192-page historical book.
Steve spends time volunteering to work
with the homeless and spends much of his time volunteering
with Special Olympics Oklahoma.
For the past ten years in various events, Steve has
dressed as “Forrest Gump” and ran 397-miles across
Oklahoma
along historic Route 66.
Dressed as Forrest, it took Steve sixteen days to run
across the Sooner state in an effort to raise money and
awareness for Special Olympics.
Steve was recognized by former Governor
Frank Keating for his philanthropy work on behalf of Special
Olympics and was awarded the honor of “Steve Kime Day”
in the state of
Oklahoma
on
April 5, 2001
. He was
selected to receive the “Prestigious Award” from the
2004 Oklahoma State House of Representatives for his work on
behalf of Special Olympics.
He is married and his wife Cheryl
teaches at the
University
of
Central Oklahoma
in
Edmond
.
Presently, he serves as President of
Junior Achievement for the Greater Oklahoma City area.
